LARGE INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT CONFERENCE 2018 “BUILD FOR LIFE”
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, 26th September 2018 - Large Infrastructure Project Conference 2018 - “BUILD FOR LIFE” organized by INSEE Vietnam will be taken place at Sheraton Saigon Hotel in HCMC on 11th October 2018. This conference will be the first one focusing on large infrastructure developments and trends. With the presence of more than 200 local & international business leaders, government officials, developers, construction companies, consultants, architects and associations, it will be a highly exciting and respected construction industry melting hub.
The conference has the aim of an annual prestigious forum for leaders to connect, exchange, inspire and discuss opportunities and challenges in constructing future infrastructures. This also focuses on raising awareness about sustainable trends and solutions for Vietnam’s infrastructure demand.
Throughout the early plenary session, speakers will present macro topics related to infrastructure development such as "Economy Outlook: Vietnam’s performance in the next 10 years", “The Future of Global Engineering”, and “Smart City - Future trends in Building, Mobility and Energy”. In the afternoon, guests will have chances to exchange with experts in four areas of infrastructure: High-rise buildings; Road and bridges; Port, water treatment, energy; Metro and underground infrastructure.
This Large Infrastructure Project Conference 2018 – “Build for Life” is organized by INSEE Vietnam, an affiliate of Jardines and in partnership with SIKA Vietnam, the British Business Association, the HK Business Association and the Green Building Council of Vietnam.

PHONE AND COMPONENT EXPORTS HIT $18.4 BILLION IN FIRST FOUR MONTHS
In terms of markets, the United States has become Vietnam's largest customer instead of China (in the first quarter of last year). KEY DRIVER GAINS A MUST FOR GROWTH
Only slight order number improvements and enterprise confidence sentiment mean it may be difficult for the country to hit its desired growth goals this year.According to the World Bank’s biannual economic update report released last week, it is expected that the Vietnamese economy may grow by 5.5 per cent this year and 6 per cent next year, making it among top growth leaders in the world.
ADDED VALUE OF INDUSTRIAL SECTOR UP 6.18 PER CENT IN Q1
Vietnam’s industrial sector posted significant growth in the first quarter of 2024, of an estimated 6.18 per cent compared to the first quarter of 2023. In particular, manufacturing and processing saw robust growth of 6.98 per cent.
TEXTILE AND GARMENT BUSINESSES FACE DIFFICULTIES DUE TO LACK OF DOMESTIC SUPPLY
Infrastructure for weaving, dyeing and fabric production is still limited, and there is no spatial planning for development and centralised wastewater treatment, said Nguyễn Thị Tuyết Mai, Deputy General Secretary of the Việt Nam Textile and Apparel Association (Vitas).
