HONG KONG FOR VIETNAM: FINANCIAL GATEWAY TO GBA, ASIA AND THE WORLD

TEXTILE, GARMENT INDUSTRY TARGETS US$44 BILLION EXPORT TURNOVER NEXT YEAR
Export turnover of the textile and garment sector is expected to reach US$44 billion in 2024, up 9.2 percent against 2023, according to the Viet Nam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS). This year, the sector's export value is projected to fall by 9.2 percent year on year to US$40.3 billion due to decrease in orders and price as well as fiercer competition, said VITAS President Vu Duc Giang.
VIET NAM SHOULD EXTEND IMPLEMENTATION OF ECONOMIC SUPPORT PROGRAM INTO NEXT YEAR: WB
As Viet Nam’s economy still faces headwinds, the authorities could consider extending the implementation of the economic support program (2022-2023) into next year, suggested the World Bank (WB). MULTIDIMENSIONAL POVERTY RATE TO REDUCE TO 2.93 PER CENT AT END OF 2023
The multidimensional poverty rate in Vietnam will reduce to 2.93 per cent in 2023, a drop of 1.1 percentage points compared to last year, according to the Government’s report on the implementation of the national programme on sustainable poverty reduction.
KOREA TO PROVIDE FREE GROUP E-VISAS FOR VIETNAM
Recently, Prime Minister Han Duck-soo of South Korea convened the “Korea Tourism Export Strategy Innovation Conference” in the city of Gwangju, aiming to attract over 20 million foreign tourists in 2024. During the meeting, Prime Minister Han Duck-soo announced the goal of promoting the development of the tourism industry, with a target of achieving a record-high revenue of $24.5 billion by 2024.
