INVITATION TO MIDTERM VIETNAM BUSINESS FORUM 2017 ON FRIDAY, JUNE 16,2017
Vietnam Business Forum is an on-going policy dialogue between the Government and business community aiming at a favorable business environment and a sustainable economic development in Vietnam.
Recent changes and movement in global policies have posed many opportunities, challenges and reform request for Vietnam. The changes have been bringing in impacts on Vietnam and private sector investment. In this context, the Vietnam Business Forum Consortium in collaboration with Ministry of Planning & Investment and the World Bank Group will be holding our top level policy dialogue – Midterm VBF 2017 between the Government of Vietnam and business community, at 7:00AM - 1:30PM on Friday, June 16, 2017 at Sheraton Hanoi Hotel in Hanoi.
The Midterm VBF 2017 will provide a platform to engage in a high-level Public – Private Policy Dialogue with key decision-making Government Leaders to target on the following topics: impacts of global policies on private sector investment in Vietnam, connection between FDI & domestic enterprises and efficiency enhancement in implementation of the current laws.

VIETNAM’S TRADE TOPS $825 BILLION BY MID-SEPTEMBER
Figures released on September 21 showed goods trade reached nearly $55 billion in the first 15 days of September alone, bringing cumulative turnover since the beginning of the year to more than $825 billion. The strong growth reflects robust trade flows, with demand for consumer goods and production inputs remaining high.

The shift comes as Việt Nam seeks to accelerate science and technology, innovation and digital transformation under Politburo Resolution 57-NQ/TW, issued on December 22, 2024.

Reducing costs has become an increasingly urgent priority for import-export activities, particularly logistics costs, a conference in Hà Nội was told on Tuesday. According to Deputy General Director of the Ministry of Industry and Trade's Agency for Foreign Trade, Trần Thanh Hải, import-export activities has remained a bright spot for the economy in recent years, playing an important role and helping drive macroeconomic growth.
