CELEBRATE THE DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL WITH LONG TRIEU’S EXCLUSIVE RICE DUMPLING
Long Trieu Restaurant launched an exclusive rice dumpling collection for the 2024 Dragon Boat Festival, which is also known as the Doan Ngo Festival in Vietnamese culture. Wrapped in bamboo leaves, these emerald parcels are more than just a delicious treat. They are a cultural treasure, a story whispered through generations, and a way to honour our ancestors.
Doan Ngo Festival in Vietnamese culture is an occasion to express gratitude and remember the merit of ancestors who have contributed to the development of our nation. In particular, the Vietnamese pay tribute to the mythical National Mother Au Co, who gave birth to Bach Viet - the very essence of our Vietnamese lineage. Besides, in Chinese legend, the Dragon Boat Festival is to honour the hero Khuat Nguyen for his courage and dedication during the War period. Each nation has its stories and histories to honour, enriching the world’s culture. But most and foremost is the presentation of the rice dumpling as a solemn gift to our ancestors, bringing the flavour of heaven and earth.
Like a pearl in the middle of the traditional feast, the rice dumpling is a combination of traditional flavours and meticulous craftsmanship. The white, fragrant “pear of heaven” – rice, covers layers of pureed beans, filling with traditional ingredients such as sausage, salted duck eggs, peanuts, chestnuts, corn, shiitake mushrooms, dried shrimp, and slow-cooked pork creating a memorable and familiar taste to all generations.
From the esteemed hands of our Long Trieu’s master chef, the traditional dish is reborn with contemporary culinary ingredients such as abalone and scallops, awakening all taste buds with a soft texture and aromatic flavour. Each meticulously crafted creation is presented in an elegant box. Every bite is a sensory adventure of pride and culture, a connection to the national spirit between present and past, and a precious tribute to our ancestors.
Savour the essence of Dragon Boat Festival with our special rice dumplings! Customers can pre-order rice dumplings starting May 21st for pick-up on June 7th, 8th, or 9th. Prices start from VND 438,000+ per box (350g) and VND 738,000+ for a box of two (700g) at Long Trieu Restaurant.
