BANKS REPORT STRONG GROWTH IN LENDING AND BORROWING
[18-10-2016] Banks in HCMC reported high growth in lending and borrowing in the first nine months of the year, according to the HCMC branch of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV). Deposits at banks amounted to more than VND1,740,000 billion, up 11.37% against the same period last year, whilst outstanding loans reached VND1,390,000 billion, a year-on-year increase of 13.26%. These are the highest January-September growth rates in recent years.

Speaking at a conference held yesterday in HCM City, chairman of the city’s People’s Committee Nguyễn Thành Phong said the “the banking industry for many years has been considered the blood vessel of the economy and one of the most important industries of the city”.

[17-01-2017] Da Nang City will establish four new industrial parks (IPs) by 2020, Ho Ky Minh, deputy chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, said. Minh said the committee had asked the city’s Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT) in collaboration with relevant agencies to speedily implement procedures to submit the establishment plan of the four IPs to the Government.

Nguyen Hoai An, manager of professional services at CBRE Viet Nam Co, said at the company’s press conference yesterday that 9,128 units were avilable for sale in 34 projects across the city last year.
