DECREE ON CORPORATE, PERSONAL INCOME TAX EXEMPTION IN HCM CITY ISSUED
The Government has issued a decree which provides special policy mechanisms for corporate and personal income tax exemption in HCM City. The move comes as a response to Resolution 98, a National Assembly-approved resolution on piloting special mechanisms and policies for the development of HCM City.
WAGE HIKE PROPOSED FROM EARLY JULY
The National Wage Council has submitted a proposal to the Government for raising the regional minimum wage as from July 1.
According to the proposal, the regional minimum wage would rise by 6%, or by between VND200,000 and VND280,000 per month.

According to real estate law expert Nguyen Van Dinh, new laws coming into effect in 2025 will allow Vietnamese nationals residing abroad to carry out real estate business and own property the same as Vietnamese.
ASEAN MANUFACTURING SECTOR SEES SLIGHT IMPROVEMENT
There are some new and slight improvement across the ASEAN manufacturing sector in January, according to S&P Global Ratings, with the headline ASEAN manufacturing PMI rising from 49.7 in December to 50.3.
