SIX KEY GOALS OF VCCI IN LAST SIX MONTHS OF 2022

“In the first six months of 2022, VCCI has carried out a large amount of work, but the task in the last six months of the year still faces many challenges to achieve the set goals, requiring the united efforts of the Executive Committee,” said VCCI President Pham Tan Cong at the VCCI Executive Committee Meeting (7th Term) for the 4th time on July 30.

Speaking at the conference, VCCI President Pham Tan Cong said in the first six months of the year, VCCI had consolidated its organizational structure and improved financial and asset management. Its departments and affiliated units had been creative in strengthening cooperation with local authorities and businesses, making active contributions to economic and social development.

However, in the last six months of 2022, there are still many uncertain and unpredictable factors in the economy, finance, pandemic, especially the impact of high global inflation, armed conflict in Ukraine and the potential risk of economic recession which are the challenges to enterprises.

“In order to complete the mission and tasks of VCCI in the last six months of the year, it requires the consensus very high efforts of the Executive Board as well as the entire VCCI apparatus,” VCCI President Pham Tan Cong suggested.

Accordingly, in the last six months of the year, in addition to regular tasks, VCCI needs to focus on the six key tasks.

The first task is to implement the project to summarize Resolution 09 according to the vision for the next 10, 20 or 30 years of VCCI. VCCI advises the Politburo to issue orientations on how to build and position the business community, how to form, what to support, and how to facilitate it? This issue will be held responsible by the VCCI Party Committee.

“This is a very big strategic issue, not only for the last six months of 2022 but also for the entire term and a long period of VCCI,” emphasized VCCI President Pham Tan Cong.

VCCI will organize two thematic talks: One is a national seminar to discuss in-depth the content of building and promoting the Vietnamese businesses in the new period, from 10 to 30 years till Vietnam becomes a developed country. Another is a national workshop before submitting to the Politburo. From this workshop, participants will finalize the draft and submit it to the Politburo, then send it to the Office of the Party Central Committee. Then the Office of the Party Central Committee will collect comments from central agencies, and finally report to the Politburo for decision.

The second task that VCCI will have to do is to better promote the effective role of enterprises, create connections and support business associations. The Membership and Training Department is in charge of this task.

The third task is to award the title of outstanding enterprises, honoring the quintessence of Vietnamese businessmen.

“The problem here is to 'cast roles' between associations and VCCI. This is a national title. Selecting best businesses of each locality is done by local business associations. Among them we will select the best of the whole country,” said VCCI President Pham Tan Cong.

The fourth is a project to renew and improve membership. Currently, the business membership is large in quantity but not strong in quality, so in the future, membership will have to be renewed. This project is assigned to the Membership and Training Department.

“This is a fundamental change in the way of operation and its membership base. VCCI will have community members, but there will also be elite groups and special members who are highly committed to the activities of the Vietnamese business community, ready to shoulder common tasks,” VCCI President Pham Tan Cong emphasized.

Fifth is the cooperation project to build a media and press environment to promote business development. In this regard, VCCI will cooperate with the Vietnam Journalists Association, the Central Propaganda Department and the Ministry of Information and Communications.

“Together with the Vietnam Journalists Association, we will promote press agencies and reporters to write well and correctly. Businesses will rate the newspaper, honor and award reporters and press agencies that do well, do the right thing and encourage the businesses to develop”.

The last task, according to VCCI President Pham Tan Cong, will be an important task, which is to devise a mechanism for implementation and operation through a framework of regulations. From this framework, any individual department will develop their own regulations suitable for them.
