POTENTIAL DESTINATION AND INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY FOR INVESTORS
“Dak Nong province is opening up many incredible investment opportunities in various industries and fields and calling for qualified businesses with big projects, so as to create a remarkable transformation in the local socio-economy,” said Ms. Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee.
Dak Nong province is located at the Southern gateway of the Central Highlands, with a total area of 6,514 km2 and a population of more than 700,000 people. It has about 40 ethnic groups residing in seven districts and one city. For transportation, Dak Nong has national highways 14, 14c and 28 running through, serving as a trading hub connecting the Central Highlands provinces with the Southern Key Economic region and the South-Central Coast. The province also has a 141 km border and two national border gates (Bu Prang and Dak Per) with Cambodia, creating favorable conditions for Dak Nong to develop inter-regional and international cooperation.
Blessed by nature with unique, diverse landscapes and heritages, Dak Nong has a system of majestic waterfalls such as Dak G’Lun, Dray Sap, Gia Long, Trinh Nu; and many poetic natural lakes namely West Lake, Truc Lake, Ea Sno, Ta Dung, along with Nam Nung Nature Reserve and Ta Dung National Park. Those natural advantages allow Dak Nong to promote eco-tourism, relaxation tourism and heritage tourism.
In particular, with an area of about 3,000 hectares of water surface, including 47 islands and peninsulas of charming pristine beauty, Ta Dung Lake is welcomed with many big tourism project proposals.
Additionally, Dak Nong also owns unique geological heritage values of international significance, which are typical beautifully-shaped volcanoes and a system of lava tube caves recorded as the longest and largest lava tube caves in Southeast Asia.
Fully embedded in the Space of Gong Culture in Central Highlands – the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, Dak Nong is also known as a land of various outstanding tangible and intangible cultural heritage, including historical sites, Ot N'rong Epic, a lot of spiritual festivals, and traditional crafts.
With all valued heritages in terms of landscape, geology, culture and biodiversity, together with the local authorities’ sustainable development orientation, Dak Nong province has successfully built up the Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark since 2010.
Thanks to this noble designation from UNESCO, Dak Nong province has officially put its name on the Global Geopark Network’s tourist map consisting of 177 geopark destinations in Asia–Pacific, Europe, Africa, Latin America–the Caribbean and North America.
Overall, Dak Nong’s tourism has many comparative advantages to flourish. However, due to many challenges, the local tourism industry has not fully exploited its available potential. Identifying tourism as one of the three pillars of Dak Nong’s economy, the province is now focusing on some solutions to attract more and more domestic and international markets, such as:
- Completing the tourism development masterplan for the period of 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050; finalizing the key tourist resort project at Ta Dung Lake and surrounding areas; adding potential tourist sites to land use master plans for the period of 2021-2030.
- Strengthening tourism promotion activities to domestic and international markets, effectively operating tourist sites with the Geopark while conserving historical sites, restoring cultural features and traditional festivals; Calling for tourism investments into some exceptional volcanic caves within Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark territory.
- Developing a long-term strategy for distinctive tourism products creation, while ensuring the conservation of nature and preservation of indigenous tradition and culture.
With the converging values in the Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark and the local development orientation, Dak Nong Province is believed to be an ideal destination for passionate investors in sustainable tourism.
According to Ms. Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee, the province is opening up many incredible investment opportunities in various industries and fields and calling for qualified businesses with big projects so as to create a remarkable transformation in local socio-economy.
“Bearing in mind that ‘The businesses’ success generates the Provincial success – Our potentials are your opportunities’, Dak Nong Provincial government is committed to always accompanying and creating a favorable environment for businesses, and investors in terms of administrative procedure when they come to do business in the province,” Ms. Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh pledged.
