LOGISTICS SUMMIT 2023 WILL OPEN ON OCTOBER 5
The Logistics Summit 2023, jointly organised by VIR and SLP Vietnam under the auspices of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, will take place in Ho Chi Minh City on October 5.
Facing the trend of more large-scale manufacturers in the world planning to move production facilities to Southeast Asian countries, the demand for logistics services and warehouse facilities, in particular, is forecasted to have strong growth steps.
Modernising logistics services by applying AI in management and using green, clean, and environmentally friendly technology will be an inevitable trend in the near future.
To clearly identify the trends, opportunities, and challenges facing these changes, under the auspice of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, VIR and SLP Vietnam jointly organise the Logistics Summit 2023.
The conference is expected to have the participation of 300 delegates, consisting of leaders of state management agencies, industry experts, domestic and foreign business associations, and businesses providing and using logistics services, manufacturing enterprises in many different fields are currently renting factories and warehouses, and investment consultants.
The summit includes two discussion sessions on identifying logistics trends in Vietnam and creating opportunity for logistics development.
At the first session, experts and businesses will focus on discussing and analysing the importance of having a system of clear and favourable policies and regulations in shaping the logistics industry in Vietnam, government initiatives to promote an environment conducive to growth, attracting investment and promote competitiveness, and the impact of international trade agreements on the logistics industry.
Also included will be the ongoing global change in supply chains, relocation of manufacturing facilities, opportunities in drawing in overseas funding and making Vietnam a preferred production and distribution centre, and challenges and strategies for Vietnam to utilise global changes and strengthen its position in regional and global supply chain networks.
Other hot issues are the development of Vietnam's logistics infrastructure, planning and implementation of logistics centres, capabilities of service providers in forwarding, road transport, customs, and cross-border operations, and more.
In session two, the summit will analyse and discuss in depth the growth drivers for the logistics industry, the trend of developing modern and green logistics services, and evaluating the opportunities open to businesses in the context of needing to diversify supply chains.
At the same time, the summit’s speakers, panellists, and experts will also discuss solutions to remove bottlenecks in logistics infrastructure development, such as insufficient planning and legal frameworks and a shortage of available land.
The event will take place on October 5 at the InterContinental Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City, and will be streamed on Facebook, YouTube, and other online platforms of VIR.
