FIVE NATIONS RECOGNIZE VIET NAM’S VACCINE PASSPORT
The U.S., Japan, the United Kingdom, Australia and Belarus have officially accepted Viet Nam's vaccine passport while 80 partners, including India and Canada, have recognized in principle Viet Nam’s vaccine certificates.
Other partners consisting of ASEAN nations, the EU, China and the Republic of Korea (RoK) are completing procedures to accelerate mutual recognition of vaccine passports with Viet Nam.
Accordingly, vaccine passport will be granted for people who have got two shots of such vaccines as AstraZeneca, Sputnik V, Vero Cell, Pfizer, Moderna, Janssen, Hayat-Vax and Abdala.
Viet Nam has temporarily recognized the vaccine certificates of 72 countries and territories: Algeria, Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Brunei, Bulgaria, Cambodia, China, Colombia, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Laos, Libya, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, Mongolia, Morocco, New Zealand, Nepal, the Netherlands, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, the Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan (China), Timor Leste, Turkey, Turkmenistan, the UAE, the U.K., Ukraine, and the U.S.
Since January 1, 2022, fully vaccinated air passengers or those having recovered from COVID-19 may be required to self-isolate at home, places of residence, hotels for three days.
Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated entrants may be required to self-isolate at home for seven days and to undergo PCR tests for COVID-19 on the first and seventh days from the date of arrival.
According to the latest plan, in the first phase, Viet Nam will resume air routes to nine traditional markets including Beijing, Guangzhou and Taipei (China), Tokyo (Japan), Seoul (the RoK), Bangkok (Thailand), Singapore, Vientiane (Laos), Phnom Penh (Cambodia) and San Francisco and Los Angeles (the U.S.).
Viet Nam has removed quarantine requirement for foreign arrivals entering Viet Nam and staying no more than 14 days, applicable to:
- Those who enter Viet Nam for diplomatic and official purposes;
- Foreign investors, experts, skilled workers, business managers, those who travel to Viet Nam for market research, and their relatives;
- Others mutually agreed between Viet Nam and a foreign partner
- Those who come in contact with the aforesaid arrivals.

HCMC TARGETS 181,000 NEW SOCIAL HOUSING UNITS BY 2030
HCMC plans to build more than 181,000 social housing units between 2026 and 2030, after completing nearly 17,900 units over the past five years, city officials said. Le Duc Anh, deputy head of the Housing and Real Estate Market Management Division under the city’s Department of Construction, said at a socio-economic press briefing in HCMC on June 4 that the city was stepping up efforts to expand social housing supply.
VIETNAM TARGETS 5,000 NEW AGRICULTURAL BUSINESSES BY 2031
Vietnam aims to support the establishment of at least 5,000 agricultural enterprises during the 2026-2031 period as part of efforts to build a digital agriculture sector and more sustainable value chains. The target was announced at the ninth National Congress of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union, which opened in Hanoi on June 8.
OUTSTANDING GREEN LOANS REACH VND828 TRILLION IN 2017-2025
Outstanding green loans in Vietnam have reached VND828 trillion, with 82 credit institutions now extending financing to environmentally sustainable projects. Growing at an average annual rate of more than 20% between 2017 and 2025, green credit has emerged as a key driver for mobilizing and allocating resources to support the country’s green transition and sustainable economic development.
AROUND VND33.6 TRILLION RAISED FROM G-BONDS IN MAY
The State Treasury raised VND33.63 trillion from Government bond (G-bond) auctions in May, completing 72% of its second quarter issuance plan and nearly one-third of its annual target. According to data released by the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) on June 4, the exchange organized a total of 17 G-bond auctions on behalf of the State Treasury during May.
