FDI INFLOWS REACH US$15.27 BLN IN FIRST SIX MONTHS
The total inflows of foreign direct investment capital reached US$15.27 billion in the first six months this year, down 2.6 percent compared to the same period last year.

The total figure includes nearly US$9.55 billion in newly registered capital poured in 804 licensed projects, down 43.3 percent in the number of projects and up 13.2 percent in capital volume, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
The rest are adjusted capital (US$4.12 billion), capital contribution and share purchases (US$1.61 billion) by foreign investors, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
Meanwhile, the disbursed FDI volume rose by 6.8 percent to US$9.24 billion over the reviewed period, said the ministry.
The FDI capital flew to 18 sectors, in which manufacturing and processing accounted for the highest proportion with US$6.98 billion, making up 45.7 percent of the total investment capital. I
Electricity production and distribution ranked second with investment capital of US$5.34 billion, followed by real estate with the total registered capital of US$1.15 billion.
In the first half of this year, Singapore was the biggest foreign investor with registered capital of US$5.64 billion, accounting for nearly 36.9 percent of the total investment capital.
Japan came second with US$2.44 billion, followed by the Republic of Korea (US$2.05 billion).
Accumulated as of June 20, 2021, Viet Nam had 33,787 valid projects with total registered capital of US$397.89 billion, of which the realized volume was estimated at over US$241 billion.
