JAN-OCT SEES NEARLY 163,000 NEW BUSINESSES SET UP
Vietnam recorded 162,900 new businesses established in the first ten months of the year with total registered capital of nearly VND1.6 quadrillion and 967,600 employees, showed data from the National Statistics Office (NSO). Average capital per new company was VND9.8 billion. Total additional capital injected into the economy during the period reached VND5.2 quadrillion, surging 98.2% from the same period last year.
OVER 121,000 VIETNAMESE WORKERS SENT ABROAD IN JAN-OCT
More than 121,000 Vietnamese have gone overseas for guest work in the first 10 months of 2025, achieving 93% of the year’s target, according to the Department of Overseas Labor Management under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Japan remained the largest destination with over 55,000 workers, followed by Taiwan with 47,000 and South Korea with nearly 10,000.
LABOUR MARKET IMPROVES IN Q3, BUT CHALLENGES PERSIST
Việt Nam’s labour market navigated persistent hurdles in the third quaảter (Q3) despite broader economic gains, said Nguyễn Thị Thanh Mai, acting head of the Department of Population and Labour Statistics at the Ministry of Finance’s National Statistics Office. The unemployment rate among working-age individuals stood at 2.22 per cent in Q3, down 0.02 percentage point from the previous quarter and 0.01 percentage point year-on-year.
VIETNAM’S UNEMPLOYMENT DOWN IN Q3
Vietnam’s labor market showed positive signs in the third quarter of 2025, with both unemployment and underemployment rates declining from the previous quarter and the same period last year, according to the National Statistics Office. The number of underemployed workers fell to around 696,500 in Q3, down by 102,700 from the previous quarter and 166,900 from a year earlier.
E-COMMERCE WORKFORCE NEEDS BOOSTING
The e-commerce market has experienced rapid growth, leading to a surge in demand for highly skilled talent. The country’s e-commerce market surpassed US$25 billion last year, growing by 22 per cent year-on-year, and now accounts for approximately nine per cent of total retail sales in goods and consumer services.
