VN FIRMS INVEST IN TEXTILE, DYEING
[06-12-2016] Many textile and garment enterprises are investing in textile and dyeing complexes to ensure material for sustainable development, Vietnam Television (VTV)reported recently. To avail themselves of business opportunities from the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement, many textile and garment firms have over the past two years started building textile and dyeing complexes.
PUBLIC-PRIVATE APPAREL FIRMS INK DEAL
[29-10-2016] Representatives from public private partnerships (PPP) in apparel and footwear yesterday signed a co-operation agreement for the two sectors’ sustainable development in Việt Nam. The co-operation, which is the first of its kind in Việt Nam, marks a new step in promoting the sustainable development of the apparel and footwear sectors in terms of economy, society and environment.
FOREIGN INVESTMENT IN TEXTILE & GARMENT SECTOR FALLS
[02-10-2016] Unlike two years ago, when Vietnam witnessed a wave of foreign direct investment (FDI) in textile & garment projects, the capital flow into the sector has slowed down. A series of huge projects with investment capital of billions of dollars were registered in 2014 and 2015.
TEXTILE-GARMENT EXPORT GROWTH COOLS
[23-09-2016] Vietnam's textile-garment exports still increased in the first first eight months of this year but at a slower pace than in the same period last year. Vietnam shipped abroad US$18.7 billion worth of textile-garment products in the January-August period, up 4.4% year-on-year, according to the Vietnam Cotton and Spinning Association (VCOSA).
GARMENT FACTORY DATA REVISED

TEXTILE, GARMENT EXPORT TURNOVER INCREASE SLIGHTLY
[29-08-2016] The figure is much lower than previous years, the ministry said. Three major markets of Vietnam include the US, Japan and South Korea. The US topped US$6.52 billion, up 3.48 percent compared to the same period last year and accounting for 49.6 percent of the country’s total textile export turnover.
VITAS WANTS APPAREL SECTOR ZONING PLAN REVISED
[18-08-2016] The Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) has proposed the Government and relevant ministries revise the master zoning plan for textile and garment industry development as it has become outdated.
APPAREL FIRMS WORRY ABOUT 2017 WAGE HIKE PLAN
[04-08-2016] A number of enterprises in the labor-intensive textile-garment industry have expressed concern over the National Wage Council’s plan to increase the region-based minimum wages by 7.3% on average next year, saying the cost burden would be heavier for them.
