WHA GROUP SPEARHEADS INDUSTRIAL EXPANSION IN THANH HOA WITH FOUR MAJOR MOU SIGNINGS
THANH HOA, VIETNAM – March 28, 2026 – On the sidelines of the prestigious Thanh Hoa Investment Promotion Conference 2026, WHA Industrial Development PLC. has officially solidified its commitment to the province’s growth by signing four pivotal Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) for new industrial infrastructure projects.

The signing ceremony marked a historic day for Thanh Hoa, with a total of 14 MOUs signed by various global and local leaders, representing a staggering total investment of nearly VND 73,000 billion (~USD 2.9–3.0 billion).
WHA: A Strategic Pillar of Thanh Hoa’s Industrial Future
As a leading developer of internationally standardized industrial estates, WHA Group emerged as a key participant in the conference. The four MOUs signed by WHA focus on developing high-tech, sustainable industrial ecosystems across strategic locations in the province:
1. Thieu Quang Industrial Park
2. Thieu Hoa Industrial Park
3. WHA Smart Technology Industrial Zone 1 (Phu Quy IZ) – Phase 2
4. WHA Smart Technology Industrial Zone 2 (Giang Quang Thinh IZ) – Phase 2
These projects are designed to replicate WHA’s successful "Smart Eco" model, integrating advanced utilities, digital management systems, and environmental safeguards to attract high-value FDI to the Northern Technology & Industrial Corridor.
A $3 Billion Investment Milestone for the Province

The conference showcased a massive wave of capital flowing into Thanh Hoa, targeting industrial infrastructure, logistics, R&D, and aviation. Alongside WHA, other significant projects were announced, including:
• Logistics & R&D: FLC Group signed MOUs for logistics infrastructure and R&D centers totaling over VND 27,000 billion.
• Aviation Infrastructure: Sovico Group initiated a study project to upgrade Tho Xuan Airport, valued at VND 8,200 billion.
• Industrial Hubs: Major developments were also confirmed by Thang Long Industrial Park, Tan Phuc Hung Group, Viet Hung Group, and Dai Dung Mechanical Construction.
Leadership Perspective
Representing WHA at the event, leadership expressed high confidence in the province’s trajectory: "Thanh Hoa is rapidly emerging as a primary industrial engine for Vietnam. Our decision to expand into Thieu Hoa, Thieu Quang, and advance Phase 2 of our Smart Technology zones reflects our belief in the province’s strategic advantages and the proactive support of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee."

The total registered investment from the day’s proceedings signals a new era for Thanh Hoa, positioning it as a top-tier destination for global capital and a regional leader in industrial and logistics excellence.

According to Dragon Capital, Vietnam’s growth momentum strengthened in March following Lunar New Year normalisation, reinforcing confidence that the expansion remained firmly intact through the first quarter of 2026. GDP grew 7.8 per cent on-year in the first quarter, with industry and construction rising 8.9 per cent and services 8.2 per cent, highlighting that growth is not solely reliant on exports and manufacturing, but is increasingly supported by services and domestic demand.
VIETNAM’S SMALL BUSINESSES TOP ASIA‑PACIFIC GROWTH RANKINGS
Vietnamese small businesses posted the strongest performance among 11 Asia Pacific markets in 2025, with 84% reporting growth, up from 82% a year earlier, according to CPA Australia’s small business survey. This momentum is forecast to continue in 2026 with 89% of small businesses expecting to grow on the back of a strong focus on technology, e-commerce, and improved business management.
VIETNAM’S IMPORTS FROM CHINA TOP US$50 BILLION IN Q1
Vietnam’s imports from China in the first quarter of 2026 surged a staggering 31.6% year-on-year to more than US$50 billion, accounting for around 40% of the country’s total imports, customs data showed. The increase was driven largely by technology goods and industrial equipment. Imports of computers, electronics and components jumped 62.2% to US$16.77 billion, while machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts rose 25% to US$9.72 billion.
FRUIT AND VEGETABLE EXPORTS SURGE ON GLOBAL DEMAND
Việt Nam’s fruit and vegetable exports have made a strong start to the year, with rising shipments and tighter compliance with international standards helping producers tap robust global demand, according to the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetables Association. The association reported export earnings of nearly US$532 million in April, bringing total export value to $2.06 billion in the first four months of the year, up 22 per cent year-on-year.

Banks are rolling out cross-border QR payment services enabling consumers to make international transactions directly through domestic banking apps to tap into the country’s fast-growing digital economy.
