1. Gross Domestic Products (GDP) Growth
GDP in the quarter at 1994 constant prices was estimated increasing by 4.00% from the same period in 2011, of which the sector of agriculture, forestry and fishery rose 2.84%, contributed 0.33 point percent; the industry and construction rose 2.94%, contributed 1.27 points percent; and the service rose 5.31%, contributed 2.40 points percent.

As of mid-February, the country had 2,401,800 ha of spring rice cultivated, equaling 93.1% from the same period last year, of which provinces in the North completed 514,700 ha, equaling 76.4% and provinces in the South achieved 1,887,100 ha, equaling 99%.

Agriculture
The focus of agricultural production over the country in January was to cultivate spring rice and winter crops. As of 15/01/2012, the country had 1,856,800 ha of spring rice cultivated, equaling 95.3% from the same period last year.

1.1. Gross Domestic Products (GDP) Growth
2011’s GDP was estimated growing 5.89% from 2010 and the pace was even for all the three sectors, of which it rose 5.57% in 1st Quarter; 5.68% in 2nd Quarter; 6.07% in 3rd Quarter and 6.10% in 4th Quarter. Although this year’s pace was lower than that of 6.78% in 2010, it was rather high and reasonable in the context of many difficulties in production and the country’s focused efforts in curbing inflation and stabilizing macroeconomy.
