1. Gross Domestic Products (GDP) Growth
GDP in the first Quarter was estimated to increase by 5.46% over the same period last year, of which the sector of industry and construction rose 6.72%, contributed 2.33 percentage points to the general growth; the service sector raised by 6.13%, contributed 2.48 percentage points; only the sector of agriculture, forestry and fishery decreased by 1.23%, reduced 0.16 percentage points of the general growth.

As of mid-February, the country cultivated 2393.1 thousand hectares of winter-spring rice, equaling 100.2% of the figure in the same period last year, of which provinces in the North cultivated 480.6 thousand hectares, equaling 100.3%; provinces in the South cultivated 1912 thousand hectares, equaling 100.2%.

As of 15 August 2015, the country cultivated 1366.6 thousand hectares of winter rice, equaling 94.5% from the same period last year. According to the preliminary report, the country’s yield of summer-autumn rice was estimated to reach 11.2 million tons, approximately 2014’s same crop.
