[04-01-2015] A string of fresh policies on foreign-related elements were introduced in 2014 including foreign strategic investors, sub-lease of job, preferential corporate tax, international goods trading activities with foreigners, temporary import for re-export, and indirect investment capital account.

[23-12-2014] As the new Law on Customs will become effective on January 1, 2015, the Ministry of Finance and the General Department of Customs are drafting circulars to guide its implementation. Several new circulars are being drafted for customs procedures, e-customs, toll manufacturing, and post-customs clearance audits and inspection.

[14-12-2014] The Presidential Office on December 12 held a press conference to announce eight laws, which have been adopted at the eight session of the 13th National Assembly. They include the Laws on Civil Status, Investment, Enterprises, Occupational Education, and Management and Use of State Capital in Production and Business, and the Laws on amendments and supplements to some articles of the Laws on Enforcement of Civil Judgements, Taxation, and Special Consumption Tax.

[05-12-2014] On 25 November, the National Assembly passed a new law on residential housing. This new law will come into effect next July. While the enacted version has not yet been released, based on the last version submitted to the National Assembly for voting which was made available to us, key changes in the new law include:

[03-12-2014] 'Circular No. 19/2014 (Circular 19) on Foreign Exchange Control in Foreign Direct Investment Activities in Vietnam' was issued by the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) and became effective on 25 September 2014. It requires that payments for the acquisition of shares or equity in foreign direct invested enterprises (FIE) must be made via the FIE’s direct investment capital account.

[01-12-2014] The Alert update on the Amended Law on a number of tax Laws and Amended Law on Special Sales Tax dated 26 November 2014 by the National Assembly of Vietnam. The Amended Law on a number of tax Laws will take effect from 1 January 2015. The Amended Law on Special Sales Tax will take effect from 1 January 2016.

[19-11-2014] The Alert update on Decree No. 103/2014/ND-CP dated 11 November 2014 by the Government replacing Decree No. 182/2013/ND-CP dated 14 November 2013 to stipulate the region-based minimum wage levels for all types of enterprises, cooperatives, cooperative groups, farms, households, individuals, agencies and organizations that hire workers.
