CITY SPEEDS UP DEVELOPMENT OF LOGISTICS SECTOR
According to the Việt Nam Logistics Business Association, more than 70 per cent of the country’s 3,000 logistics firms are in the city, mainly operating in shipping and delivering, transportation, warehousing, ports, loading and unloading, distribution, customs clearance and integrated logistics services.

The Mekong Delta is the country’s largest agricultural production area and has seen growing demand for air cargo transportation, especially for high-value items for export. In 2017, the volume of goods transported from the region through Tan Son Nhat airport in HCMC exceeded 70,000 tons.
CARGO VOLUMES AT SEAPORTS REMAIN IMBALANCED
However, seaports in the north serve 25%-30% of the total volume of cargo and those in central provinces, only 13%, while customs clearance procedures for 57% of cargo are done at seaports in the south.
