DECREE ON PILOTING GRANTING E-VISAS FOR FOREIGNERS ENTERING VN
The Government has issued Decree No. 07/2017/NĐ-CP defining procedures on piloting granting e-visas for foreigners entering Viet Nam. According to the Decree, foreigners registering for e-visas will realize these following steps:
VN TO LAUNCH E-VISAS BY 2017
[21-12-2016] Viet Nam will grant e-visas to foreigners from 2017-2018, aiming to attract more tourists and foreign visitors as well as boosting the domestic tourism industry, according to the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism.
HCMC PROPOSES 36-HOLE GOLF COURSE IN CAN GIO
[01-12-2016] The government of HCMC has asked the Ministry of Planning and Investment to seek Prime Minister’s approval for a 36-hole golf course covering over 135 hectares in the city’s outlying coastal district of Can Gio. In a written petition sent to the ministry, the city proposed adding the golf course project in Long Hoa Commune and Can Thanh Town to the country’s golf course development plan until 2020.
VNAT: FOREIGNERS CAN MANAGE TOURISM DEVELOPMENT FUND
[13-09-2016] Individuals, firms, tourism associations and financial institutions at home and abroad will have the opportunity to manage a tourism development assistance fund planned to be established in September, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT).
FOREIGN DIPLOMATS IN VIETNAM NOW ELIGIBLE FOR FIVE-YEAR RESIDENCE CARDS

FOREIGN ARRIVALS TO VN RISE 41.2% IN JULY
[28-07-2016] Foreign arrivals to Viet Nam in July this year reached 846,311, a rise of 41.2% year on year, reported the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT). The figure pushed the total foreign visitors to the country in the first seven months of this year to 5.5 million, an increase of 24% over the same period last year, according to the VNAT.
HORSE-RACING COURSES IN THE FINAL FURLONG
[11-07-2016] Hong Kong’s Matrix Holding Limited has proposed to develop a horse racing complex, the move came immediately after the decree on betting services for specific sport games was submitted to the government in June.
VISA EXEMPTION FOR VISITORS FROM FIVE COUNTRIES EXTENDED
[04-07-2016] The Vietnamese Government has decided to extend visa exemptions by an additional year for tourists from the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. The decision, Decree 56/NQ-CP, was issued on June 30.
