AIR LINKS BETWEEN VIET NAM AND 19 COUNTRIES/TERRITORIES HAVE REOPENED SINCE PILOT FLIGHT RESUMPTION
A total of 19 flight routes between Việt Nam and other countries have resumed operations since the pilot programme to bring back international flights starting from the beginning of 2022, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Việt Nam (CAAV).
FOREIGN TOURISTS COULD SOON ENJOY VISA EXEMPTIONS AGAIN
If this proposal is approved, the visa policy could return to the status applied before 2020. Accordingly, people from 24 countries and territories could again enjoy visa waiver programmes, as well as e-visa for citizens from 46 other countries and territories.
RESTRICTIONS ON INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS TO BE REMOVED FROM FEBRUARY 15
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has asked the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM) to issue a Notice To Airmen (NOTAM) on the lifting of all restrictions on international flights from February 15, returning to the normal situation as before the outbreak of COVID-19.

Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) to consider and announce a detailed roadmap for the reopening of the tourism industry.
SEVEN COMMERCIAL FLIGHTS AVAILABLE FOR PASSENGERS
So far, Viet Nam Airlines, the national flag carrier, has resumed regular air routes between Viet Nam and the U.S. (four flights per week), Japan (three flights per week), the RoK (two flights per week), Chinese Taipei (one flight per week), Singapore (two flights per week), Thailand (two flights per week) and Cambodia (four flights per week).

Việt Nam is eyeing restoring air links from January 2022 to nine destinations with a high level of epidemiologic safety: Beijing/Guangzhou (China), Tokyo (Japan), Seoul (the Republic of Korea), Taipei (China), Bangkok (Thailand), Singapore, Vientiane (Laos), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), and San Francisco/Los Angeles (United States).
