TOUGHER COMPETITION FOR APPAREL SECTOR AHEAD
[12-04-2015] Experts have called on apparel enterprises to improve product quality and prepare to face tougher competition in the next five years. Speaking at the Vietnam Saigon Fabric & Garment Industry Expo (Saigon Tex) 2015 in HCMC on April 9, Hoang Ve Dung, deputy general director of Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex), said Vietnam will sign more bilateral and multilateral free trade agreements, thus offering multiple opportunities but at the same time exposing them to more challenges.
FOREIGN INVESTORS SCAMPERING FOR A SHARE IN GARMENT INDUSTRY
[08-04-2015] A series of foreign direct investment projects in the garment sector will be started in the central region of Vietnam over the next months. Some of the more outstanding projects include the Delta Galil fiber-dyeing and garment plant, the Onewoo garment plant and the Tam Thang textile-garment and dyeing plant.
GARMENT EXPORTS SURGE BY 18 PER CENT
[18-03-2014] Garment exports in January and February posted an 18 per cent year-on-year increase to US$3.4 billion, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) said. The surge has made the achievement of this year’s export target of $28 to 28.4 billion a strong possibility.
GARMENT SECTOR TARGETS USD3 BILLION EXPORT VALUE TO ROK
[23-01-2015] Vietnamese garment and textile companies are targeting a total export turnover of an estimated USD3 billion to the Republic of Korea this year, Vietnam Investment Review reported. The total export turnover of Vietnam's textile and garment sector to the RoK reached USD2.4 billion last year, an increase of 27 percent compared to 2013.

FOREIGN APPAREL FIRMS EXPAND PRODUCTION IN CITY
[16-01-2015] The HCMC government have licensed two foreign garment and textile firms to adjust up their investments to expand production and boost export. HCMC chairman Le Hoang Quan handed a certificate for capital increase to Worldon (Vietnam) Co. Ltd., which is invested by Gain Lucky Limited, which produces world-famous sportswear brands such as Nike, Adidas and Puma.
