THE NEWS OF THE DEATH OF IVOR COSIMO JENCKS, MBE, A COMMITTED BOARD MEMBER OF HKBAV

We are deep in sorrow sharing the news of the death of Ivor Cosimo Jencks, MBE, a committed Board Member of HKBAV, a dedicated philanthropist, and a great leader for the international business community in Vietnam. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at such difficult times.

Cosimo Jencks, arrived in Vietnam in 1998 and spent his career with the Jardine Matheson Group in various capacities. Outside of work, he was an athlete cycling and running marathons, many a time for charity causes. He was an inspiration to many businesses CSR efforts in Vietnam and was truly deserving when he was awarded the order of Member of the British Empire by King Charles in recognition of his selfless acts. At New Borns Vietnam where countless premature babies were saved, much owed to the awareness helped raised by Cosimo. He brought this charity helping premature babies and their mothers to the attention of the wider community. He helped shaped many of our early initiatives at the HKBAV Charity Funds and we are forever grateful for his holding our hands through our learning years. And besides all those already admirable qualities, he was also an advisor to the start-up community, lending his weight whenever possible. He is a true inspiration to our business community in Vietnam.

Cosimo sat on the Board of HKBAV for years and is an Honorary Member from 2023. We teamed up well and he took his responsibilities as seriously as he played. We will remember Cosimo as a selfless gentleman. He is taken away from us far too soon but a life full of achievement, love and for his dry humor we must celebrate.
