HKSAR SMART IDENTITY CARD ISSUE

According to the Hong Kong SAR’s current law, holders of old-versioned Identity Cards who cannot have their Identity Cards replaced during the specified call-up periods due to their absence from Hong Kong should apply within 30 days upon their return to Hong Kong.

Besides, the invalidation of old-versioned Identity Cards will not affect the holder's right of abode in Hong Kong. Any Hong Kong residents living in Vietnam who still keep their old-versioned Identity Cards, when applying for Hong Kong SAR’s passports at the Consulate General in Hochiminh City, the “Application for Overseas Permanent Identity Card” can be submitted at the same time.

-     ROP144 (for applicants below 18 years old)
