HKBAV Charity Events

On August 20, 2024, the HKBAV Charity Committee visited Tan Son Nhi Charity School to donate textbooks to 200 students in grades 1 to 5 for the 2024-2025 school year. This charity project cost VND 39,820,000 and was aimed at supporting primary school students from migrant families with difficult circumstances living in the Binh Tan area.

The Library of Dreams was founded by Ms. Nguyễn Phi Vân in 2014 with the goal of providing access to books and creative activities for children in areas with limited resources. Since then, the project has established 183 libraries in 25 provinces and cities, with a goal of building 1,000 libraries by 2030.

One of the schools that has benefited from The Library of Dreams is Ban Me Elementary School, a bilingual Mong-Vietnamese primary school with a focus on fostering a reading culture among its students. However, due to economic constraints, the school lacks variety in genres and most of the books available to the students are old. 

The boarding facility lacks functional computers, hindering students’ learning. We believe that access to technology is key to unlocking knowledge and empowering communities, and we're proud to support the learning and growth of students in this region using computers and the internet.

To support children and their families who are grappling with economic challenges in obtaining study materials for the upcoming school year at Kơ Pa Kơ Lơng Primary School, the Hong Kong Business Association Vietnam (HKBAV) stepped forward with a generous donation.

During our visit, we had the opportunity to interact with the children and their families, and it was heartwarming to see their faces light up with joy and excitement. We hope that our small gesture will make a lasting impact on their lives and inspire others to spread kindness and compassion in their communities.

2023 HKBAV - SIEU THANH Charity Golf Tournament, held at Harmonie Golf Park on November 10 this year with net proceeds of VND335,856,440 (~USD13.880) will be added to our Charity Account to fund the initiatives under the banner of “Enable Learning Impart Knowledge”.

The No.8 branch of La Van Cau Primary School is situated in a remote village known as The Village with 8 "nothing". The Mong ethnic minority people live in scattered groups in the forest and have encroached on the land to cultivate crops and form residential groups.

The project "INFORMATICS ROOM FOR CHILDREN" was created by "Raising Children" and the National Volunteer Center (VVC) after realizing that highland children face difficulties in accessing Information Technology due to the lack of facilities.

The center provides care and education for immigrant children, street children, and those with special circumstances. It aims to support children in becoming happy, healthy, and active members of society. The center has struggled with a lack of stable infrastructure and is currently trying to build a new school. They are seeking support for computers to improve the children's learning environment.

HKBAV is honored to support learning through using of computers and internet at the Ward 25 Binh Thanh Universal School by contributing to the setup of a Computer Room. Students who may not have access to technology at home can now have the resources they need to succeed in their studies.

Another project has been completed by HKBAV Charity Committee. A library books charity project valued at VND 15,527,216 would be a significant contribution to promoting literacy and education in the community. With this amount of funding, we are able to purchase a large number of new books to donate to Binh Thanh school.
