HKBAV AND CANCHAM ARE JOINING HANDS IN "RICE FOR LIFE" PROGRAM

Vietnam has successfully faced down three waves of Covid-19 and the country has been successful maintaining economic development while containing the spread of the coronavirus which has been applauded widely and often. The resilience of the Vietnamese people and the government’s prevention measures have brought the nation this far.

With the recent emergence of the fourth wave, Vietnam faces a new challenge. Many families’ lives have been disrupted by circumstances beyond their control making times difficult - especially for communities of lower means.

To support families in need during this challenging time, HKBAV would like to throw the weight behind CanCham “Rice for Life” Program, an impactful CSR initiative conceived during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic which identifies communities most impacted to provide rice to families in need. With the current restrictions in place, many workers and households are struggling to sustain their families with much-reduced income as non-essential businesses are either shut-down or partially open.

Last year, the Rice for Life program donated 39.5 tons of rice and supported 7,151 families. This time, we hope to help even more people whose livelihoods have been badly affected by the current wave of COVID-19 in Vietnam, especially in Ho Chi Minh City.

“Together we go farther” - HKBAV & CanCham are now calling for donations from members, partners, and supporters to help us in supporting more families in need during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our target is to raise around 100 – 150 million dongs and HKBAV Charity Fund will match the donation between July 22 and August 5, 2021
