HKBAV CHARITY SUBCOMMITTEE REPORT
The donation in both currencies has been handed over to Mr. Nguyen Binh Tru, Vice President of the Red Cross Hochiminh City on Dec. 7, 2010. The official receipts issued by Red Cross Hochiminh have been sent to each donor separately via post office.
Furthermore, according to the announcement on Sept 8, 2010, we have made our donation of VND80 million, together with VND80 million from China Business Association and VND50 million from VN-China Friendship Organization, to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Hochiminh City Committee to build 05 (five) houses of gratitude for war martyrs' families, located in An Nhon Tay Hamlet, Cu Chi Province and 04 (four) houses for Chinese poor people located in District 11, Hochiminh City. We're pleased to inform you that the gratitude houses now have been completed, the ceremony of hand over has been taken place on Dec. 8 and 9, 2010 respectively. The size of each house is around 30sqm, the land was supplied by the local Government and the construction fee for each house is about 20 million to 30 million depending on different areas. Please also note that this news will be broadcasted on HTV9 channel television this evening, Dec. 9, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. and 6:00pm on FBNC.
You may also recall that the Consular Club's Annual Charity Bazaar took place on Nov. 20, 2010 at Legend Hotel Saigon. We would like to express our sincere thanks to those prizes and goods' sponsors as well as those Members who have enthusiastically supported by purchasing many raffle tickets, the total amount [Prizes + Goods + Raffle Tickets] we raised on behalf of HKBAV were US$1,054 + VND36,990,000.
